Daily Share: New Muslim Muppet, Zari, Teaches Kids (And Parents!) About Feminism
There’s a new muppet in town on Sesame Street — well, Afghanistan’s version — and she is teaching children the importance of feminism. Zari recently made her shimmering debut on “Baghch-e-Simsim,” the Afghan co-production of Sesame Street. The show is subsidized by the US Department of State and 81 percent of kids from the ages of three to seven watch it.
Zari is here to teach kids, particularly young girls, that going to school is great and that little girls can have careers, too.
We can’t wait to see more of Zari as she teaches kids about life.[adsense1]
