Music Monday, May 2: Calvin Harris ft. Rihanna, The Rotary Connection, Chicano Batman, Laura Mvula, and more!

This week’s Music Monday is a thoroughly eclectic mix of old and new, near and far.

We revisit The Rotary Connection, a multi-cultural psychedelic band from the 60’s which included Minnie Ripperton and backed Muddy Waters on his psychedelic blues album. We then visit Laura Mvula’s incredibly powerful new album and touch back to Ana Tijoux’s 2014 album, Tengo, where we feature “Somos Sur” with Arabic-speaking woman emcee Shadia Mansour.

We keep things going with the brand new Calvin Harris tune featuring Rihanna! Other cuts include Chicano Batman, Desmond Dekker, CAN, Kilo Kish, and more. Check out this week’s Music Monday playlist and take us on the go with Spotify!
