In general, brows are the most neglected part of many ladies’ makeup routines. This is bad. This is very bad. Eyebrows, to me, are one of the most important parts of your face and can make or break a look. You want them to frame, compliment and accentuate your features. And, for many of us, this can’t happen without a little bit of help.
I had heard legends of Anastasia Beverly Hills brand of brow support and finally thought I’d give it the ol’ college try. I’m sooo glad I did. I bought the Brow Powder Duo in Soft Brown and the Mini Duo Angled/Spooley 7. They are wonderful. The powder duo is great because for many of us, our brow color is lighter toward the front of the brow and gradually gets darker. This duo helps you embolden that part of your brow without making you look like…I don’t know…Eddie Munster.
This is just from filling in the front most parts of my brows. HUUUGE DIFFERENCE, RIIIIGHT?! Right. Using the lighter of the two shades and the angled brush, I fill in the front most parts of my brows using upward strokes going with the direction of the hair growth. This makes the filling in look more natural!
After that, I cleanly line the bottom outline of my brow. I brush up every so often to soften the lines. Then, using upward strokes, I fill in the body of my brow and lighting outline the top of my brow. Don’t be scared to go ham filling in the tails. They are often overplucked and need the most attention. And with bold brows taking center stage on many of the Fall 2014 runways, you don’t want cowardly little tails.
After all is done, you want your brows to look like their own unique version of this. Bold without being overpowering. Well shaped without being too perfect. Plus, now you can more easily get away with making weirdass faces.
People will either find your facial expressions really impressive or it’ll make them take notice of your fab brows and you’ll feel like a superstar. Or. They’ll just think you’re a weird shit. Let’s hope it’s the first two options for you.
