Get the eff out of here with that “white lives matter” B.S.
Man, what hole do these dumbass Bubbas crawl from?
See, when I first read about it, I thought it was a joke, or perhaps I’d entered, like, the Twilight Zone. After reading the stories, I concluded that, indeed, it is a joke — but for completely different, far less funny reasons.
How else are you supposed to take a group of 20-something, gun-toting, confederate-flag-waving “white lives matter activists” gathering outside the Houston NAACP headquarters to vent their frustration with the “abuse” of white people at the hands of blacks, with an emphasis on blacks associated with Black Lives Matter?
Doesn’t that sound like a joke?
By “abuse,” they mean the police killings and riots that have gone down in response — and, some would say, retaliation — to the steady stream of state violence rolled out against Blacks on the daily, otherwise known as America’s criminal justice system working as it was designed and intended to.
Ken Reed, the impromptu spokesperson of this unsightly white clusterfuck, broke down the “White Lives Matter” position to the Houston Chronicle.
“We came out here to protest against the NAACP and their failure in speaking out against the atrocities that organizations like Black Lives Matter and other pro-black organizations have caused the attack and killing of white police officers, the burning down of cities and things of that nature. If they’re going to be a civil rights organization and defend their people, they also need to hold their people accountable.”
Funny. If I recall correctly, a black officer was among of the state agents killed during the police attack in Baton Rouge; and, if memory serves me right, three of the six officers responsible and criticized for the death of Freddie Gray were — guess what? — black.
In fact, the thing that Black Lives Matter has been challenging from the very beginning is white supremacy carried out through the conductor of institutional racism, not the aberrations of individuals.
Consequently, I set a few sentences to page about the complications of policing while black within the framework of structural racism here. However, none of that stopped black people from expressing how extremely livid they were when these black officers operating within a white supremacist capitalist criminal justice system got off.
But never mind that. There is another ignorant falsehood to debunk.
“We’re not out here to instigate or start any problems. Obviously we’re exercising our Second Amendment rights but that’s because we have to defend ourselves. Their organizations and their people are shooting people based on the color of their skin. We’re not. We definitely will defend ourselves, but we’re not out here to start any problems.”
So, let me get this straight. A loosely knotted group that deemed it perfectly acceptable to congregate outside a historically black civil rights organization — an organization instituted as a response to the rise and diffusion of Jim Crow, segregation, and anti-black violence in all its sordid manifestations — and blaze the confederate flag — the penultimate symbolic embodiment of pro-slavery principles which pillared antebellum southern life — is not, in any way, in the business of “instigating” problems?
Oh, and not to mention the fact that the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People was co-founded by whites such as Mary White Ovington, Henry Moskowitz and William English Walling.
Truth is, I can stop my rant right here and rest assured that every point Reed raised about black organizations and black lives matter activists targeting white police officers and shooting whites wantonly because racism has been delegitimized.
I wouldn’t have to mention how American slavery and every racist systemic offshoot that followed in the wake of that “peculiar institution” not only meant that white lives do, indeed, matter, but, more importantly, normalized belief that white lives are the first, last and only lives that matter.
But, that would go so fast over Reed’s head he’d get whiplash. He ain’t trying to hear all that.
So here’s the gist.
There is absolutely — I mean, absolutely — no moral, intellectual, historical, sociological, economic, theoretical or scholastic truth whatsoever to any movement in modern society based on the notion that blacks mistreat, dehumanize, threaten, kill and disenfranchise whites. None.
Which brings me full circle, back to the point I opened this piece with.
White lives matter is a goddamn effing joke.
AND anyone who believes in that nonsense in any shape, form or fashion is an effing joke, too.
