No matter what, I never go to sleep without completing my nightly skincare routine. For the most part. A good nightly skincare routine sets your skin up for success in the morning. In other words, do this at night to sleep in more in the morning. All my friends and my awesome boyfriend know, that a sleepover with me always involves a ten minute break so that I can do my thang. Here’s my current routine.
Cleanse With Oil. I am an oil cleansing person, as many of you know. I use Sunflower Oil with 10 drops of geranium essential oil and 5 drops of lavender essential oil. My face doesn’t feel clean anymore if I don’t oil cleanse. It gets makeup off so well without over drying and irritating. Don’t be scared. Give it a whirl. Neither Sunflower Oil nor Hempseed Oil will clog your pores so you’ve got nothing to lose!
Cleanse With Gentle Non-Foaming Cleanser. I read somewhere (so you know it’s legit) that foaming cleansers are harsh on your skin. So I was like, “Bye, Felecia” and bought Bliss’ The Youth As We Know It Anti-Aging Cleanser. It’s more like a cleansing lotion, really. I do this after my oil cleanse to gently make sure my skin is clean, clean, clean.
Gently Tone. I use Santa Maria Novella’s Rosewater to gently remove any extra makeup and calm my skin down for the next steps.
Treat. I’ve fallen in love with Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant. It creates such even and radiant skin while reducing redness and wrinkles. It’s basically a miracle.
Dark Spot Correcting Serum. To be more specific, Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution. Since using this twice a day for a few weeks, I’ve noticed a lightening of some of my acne scars! But, I’ve also gotten significantly more tan and stuff so…could be that too.
Eye Cream. I pretty much just use this because the skin around my eyes gets really dry sometimes. But, I do love Yes To Blueberries Eye Firming Treatment.
Moisturize. I love moisturizer and it’s so important. Maybe even the most important part of any skincare routine. Right now, I’m loving Yes To Blueberries Daily Repairing Moisturizer.
Dry Shampoo. I always do this the night before to give the dry shampoo maximum time to soak up any and all gross stuff in my hair. I never have to touch it up in the morning…that’s how well this works.
Zap Zits (if necessary). Cover those babies with DoTerra’s Tea Tree Oil, brush your teeth, get in bed, and snuggle!
Some nights I’m way more distracted than others and this routine will take me forever. But, I think, at this point, I’ve gotten it down to…7 minutes.
