Amber Heard Gets $7 Million In Divorce, Donates Entire Sum To Charity
Amber Heard donates entire $7 million divorce settlement to charity.
Three days ago, actress Amber Heard finalized her divorce to award-winning actor Johnny Depp. Heard had charged the Pirates of Caribbean star with “domestic violence” (she has since rescinded that charge and replaced it with prejudice).
According to the joint statement recirculated in Nylon, she insisted that her to decision to exit a marriage each party characterized as “volatile” and “intensely passionate” had nothing to do with cashing in a paycheck. That her intention was to donate her $7 million divorce settlement to charity.
“Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gains. There was never an intent of physical or emotional harm. Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future. Amber will be donating financial proceeds from the divorce to a charity.”
And she did.
Executive director of American Civil Liberties Union Anthony D. Romero and executive officer of Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles Paul S. Viviano each expressed their appreciation to Ms. Heard and commented on how the donation will help further their issues and causes they hold dear.
According to Nylon, ACLU’s Romero remarked:
“For years, we have worked through the courts and legislatures around the country to make sure that domestic violence victims are fully protected by the law and receive the government assistance they deserve. We could not be more thankful for Ms. Heard’s support — she can be confident that this gift will help other women live safely and freely.”
Viviano articulated a similar sentiment, saying “Her generosity will support the life-saving treatments and cures that Children’s Hospital Los Angeles provides for critically ill children each year.”
With this, all doubt about Heard’s motive for ending her union with Depp has been laid to rest.[adsense1]
