Oakland’s Pretty Penny

I love fashion week and send prayers to the fashion Gods that I will one day be lucky enough to attend. My only issue is this; runway looks aren’t very practical for my everyday life (or wallet!!). During a recent trip to Oakland’s Pretty Penny I tapped into my fashion week knowledge to apply a few of my favorite trends this spring, in a more practical ready to wear way.

Athletic Wear

Crop Top $34, High Waist Jeans $110, Sandals $34, Glasses $10

One of this season’s top trends is athletic wear and incorporating it into your everyday wardrobe. I personally love this trend because it lets me keep tricking people into thinking I work out. Muahahahaha. But, besides that athletic wear is a super fun, casual look. Then, I came across this vintage jersey crop top, wear it with a pair of high waist skinny jeans, fun sunglasses and, a pair of delicate sandals to add a little femininity and; you’re ready for a sunny day of maybe not so fun errands or, lunch date and shopping with your girls.

Fringe

Fringed Poncho $34, High Waist Shorts $18, Sandals $28, Turquoise Ring $42, Silver Ring $34, Black Ring $45, Necklace $42, Glasses $10

In my opinion one of the coolest trends out there- if worn the right way. This fringed poncho is practically begging me to wear it to the beach. (Pleeeaaasee take me to the beach). Well since you asked so nicely how could I say no; high waist denim shorts , fun jewelry and the perfect pair of shades complete this look.

Graphic Prints

Top $22, High Waist Shorts $18, Sandals $36, Necklace $70, Glasses $15

There’s no other way to say it-I love me a good print. I am so over the moon about this trend, and over the moon and back for this chiffon top I saw at one of my new favorite vintage shops. Again pairing it with a pair of high waist denim shorts (an essential in my spring/summer wardrobe) a fun pair of sunnies and this unique necklace made by one of Oakland’s very own. This easy fun outfit will most likely come in many variations for me this spring!

I had such luck at Pretty Penny with my spring trends, I will definitely be back! They had such a wide variety of great vintage pieces from dresses, to skirts, tops sweaters, shoes and, a great GREAT selection of hand bags (holy vintage Dooney & Bourke). Definitely somewhere I will be returning!
