Did you hear Florida recently became the 36th state to legalize gay marriage? I’m sure you think I’m super stoked about this news but I’m actually kinda pissed. Growing up gay, back when it was legal in zero states, I thought I’d never have to deal with the pressure to get married. Now I only have 14 states in which I can escape the pressure. Oh well. Oh yeah, also, the Supreme Court is hearing the appeals case on whether to make it legal across the whole nation. THEN WE WILL ALL DEAL WITH THE PRESSURE FROM OUR MOTHERS.

Billy Crystal came under fire for his comments about gay sex on TV. He has since clarified that he is against all gratuitous television sex, not just sex of the homosexual variety. Good backpedaling there, Billy! Now shut up, because gay or straight, I like my TV sex graphic, gratuitous and hot.

Photographer Wendi Kali released a photo book of contemporary butch/femme lesbians. As a femme, I am so stoked! I’ve heard from many people in my life, queer and otherwise, that the labels of butch/femme are antiquated and unnecessary. But I am proud to identify as femme and don’t know who I would be without my amazing femme friends. Or sexy butch eye candy. Or sexy femme eye candy. Or my butch friends. Et cetera, et cetera. Yay for femmes, yay for butches, yay for everyone in between.

You guys! You gays! A rare play about Oscar Wilde called Diversions & Delights is being put up in New York for the first time since 1978! I assume we all went to theatre school and regularly visit New York so this is very relevant and interesting to us all, right? Right!

Illinois and Virgina are trying to ban the use of ex-gay therapy on currently-gay minors. Both states tried and failed last year. Bummer that ex-gay therapy is still happening in these states, unbummer that they’re giving the bills a second go-round.
